ExperenciedHome This story has always been a re-read for my children but the popup book enables different levels of enjoyment to begin at an earlier age. Super to see my children exclaim with excitement as they share with our first 1-year old grandchild.

Izabella-s_Da I was ecstatic when I saw the anniversary pop-up edition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. When I flipped through it, I thought it was fantastic. Wonderful color and the pop-ups looked great. Unfortunately, after I bought it, the first time I used it, both of the pulls that have string attached immediately broke. They were very tight and hard to work. I create pop-up greeting cards and even I could not repair it to work satisfactorily. The replacement book was equally fragile. What a shame. This edition is gorgeous, but certainly not child friendly or even parent friendly.

Laura-motherof2 I bought this for my son's 3rd birthday. After one page he was completely engrossed with the story & wanted to read it again & again. The next day when I picked him up from school, his teacher told me that they had started learning about butterflies--she said he started telling her about how a butterfly develops before she even started the lesson! Very cute; of course with all pop-ups there is always a risk of the flaps ripping with little hands.

umdlaxmoog Can't go wrong with this great, classic story. The illustrations and colors are bright and bold, as in the non-popup version. However, some of the pop-ups don't "pop" very well - at least as compared to a Robert Sabuda pop-up book I have. But after breaking in the book by opening and closing each the pages a few times, that appears to be improving.

LoverofbooksWA I've read this story to my children a million times, but this fantastic pop-up version is a must-have! Every page is beautifully done and very engaging. My 3-yr-old wants to read it every night and sits and "reads" it himself during the day.

This version is definitely worth the cost for your child or as an excellent gift.

roper554 This classic book made into a pop-up anniversary edition is great.

However it needs to be kept away from small children. Like all pop-ups the kids want to touch the pages. It would make a great baby shower gift, ot first birthday gift as well.

Our family is enjoying it.

Ausgirl What a great book! My one year old granddaughter will love it for a very long time! I like the colors used, they are so bright and cheerful. The story is clever and what child can resist a pop-up book? I have become a big fan of Eric Carle.

Anonymous This book is very entertaining. My granddaughter loves to make the different activities move, She can't wait for me to read so she can do the action. She's only two and this is one of her favorite books.

KindergartenTeacher66 Mr. Carle has given us so much joy in his series of children's books based on the animal kingdom. This story of the caterpillar is no exception. Made even better as a pop-up book which children love.
